Douglas Pollard has a Ph.D. in botany and has always been concerned about conservation and the deteriorating environment. He worked for Forestry Canada and represented forestry on the Canadian Council on Ecological Areas. He is a leading authority on climate changes and has published more than 75 papers in scientific and professional journals. Doug is an avid fisherman, a respected historian and environmentalist. The author is a member and Past-President of the Haig-Brown Fly Fishing Association in Victoria. Douglas and his wife Penny, live in B.C.'s capital city, where he continues writing about fish and fishing.
